Ed Chan-Stroud is a Doctoral Candidate in the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Oxford, and is a member of the John Templeton Foundation ‘God Concepts and Spiritual Well-Being’ project. His research brings together psychology and theology to explore the nature of Christian spirituality, with a particular focus on the relationship between worship and affective flourishing. His work is explicitly interdisciplinary drawing on resources from Systematic Theology and Psychology (including Trauma Studies, Object Relations Theory and Attachment Theory). As a member of the ‘Science for Seminaries’ project, Ed was part of the Working Group which designed a science-engaged Soteriology module for Ripon College Cuddesdon, subsequently acting as a guest lecturer. Alongside this Ed is a member of the Harvard Human Flourishing Programme’s Spirituality Interest Group, and leads the Faith Communities and Flourishing work stream.
