Alberto reads for the DPhil in Theology and Religion (Patristics and Christian Ethics) at the University of Oxford. His doctorate focuses on Augustine of Hippo’s understanding of the public voice and its relevance for contemporary Christian activism.
Alberto cultivates broader interests in the history of political thought, such as political Augustinianism, debates on integralism, and Catholic social teaching. Between 2021 and 2023 he co-designed and contributed to the launch of Augustinian Resemblances, a project on the shared theological sources equipping different Christian traditions to develop shared pastoral agendas.
Alberto also serves as the President of the Oxford Graduate Theological Society and a Middle Reader at the Canterbury Institute.
